3. Tighten the front cover fasteners in the sequence shown to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the idler pulley and the bolt.

Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. NOTE: Limousines are equipped with 2 bolts retaining the shield.
Install the shield and the bolt(s).

Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Loosely install the 4 front oil pan bolts.
7. NOTE: Make sure to tighten the bolts in 2 stages.
Tighten the 4 front oil pan bolts in 2 stages.

Stage 1: Tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^
Stage 2: Tighten an additional 60 degrees.
8. Install the oil pan drain plug.

Tighten to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
9. NOTE: The front lower hole in the power steering pump is not used.
Position the power steering pump and install the 4 bolts.
^
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
10. Install a new crankshaft front oil seal.
11. Install the coolant pump. For additional information, refer to Cooling System.
12. Install the valve covers.
13. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
14. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
