Removal and Installation
CAUTION: Do not use oil-based or grease-based lubricants on the isolators. They may cause deterioration of the rubber.
CAUTION: Oil-based or grease-based lubricants on the isolators may cause the exhaust hanger isolators to separate from the exhaust hanger bracket
during vehicle operation.
NOTE: The production muffler and tailpipe assembly is a one-piece design. The service muffler and tailpipe assembly is serviced with 2 pieces.
1. NOTE: Single exhaust shown, dual similar.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. WARNING: The electrical power to the air suspension system must be turned off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension
vehicle. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during
these operations.
If equipped, turn the air suspension switch OFF.
3. Remove the 2 nuts and the clamp.

To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
4. Using a suitable exhaust cutter, separate the muffler from the tailpipe.
5. NOTE: Check the isolator for wear or damage. Install a new isolator as necessary.
Detach the isolator and remove the tailpipe.
6. NOTE: Check the isolator for wear or damage. Install a new isolator as necessary.
Detach the isolator and remove the muffler.
