2. Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission.

Remove the nut and disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.

Disconnect the shift cable from the shift cable bracket.

Remove and discard the shift cable retainer.
3. Unclip the shift cable from the clips that route the cable upward toward the top of the engine compartment.
4. Remove the bolts and the shift cable bracket from the transmission.
5. From the engine compartment, unclip the shift cable from the clip that routes the cable toward the bulkhead.
6. Disconnect the shift cable from the steering column.

Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission selector lever arm and support.

Disconnect the shift cable from the steering column bracket.

Remove and discard the shift cable retainer.
7. From the engine compartment, use a suitable tool to push the rubber grommet through the bulkhead.
8. From the passenger compartment, remove the shift cable from the vehicle.
Installation
1. From inside the vehicle, feed the shift cable through the opening in the bulkhead and downward toward the transmission.
2. Seat the shift cable rubber grommet in the bulkhead opening.
