If the valve compresses, release the pliers. The valve is good. The white plastic ring may have dislodged and be cocked in the valve bore
or resting on the top of the special tool. Reinstall the ring, making sure it locks into place above the tangs on the plastic stem. Lower the
hoist and release the vehicle. See Figure 3.
If the valve does not compress, continue with the next step of this inspection.

Using appropriate diagnostic equipment, check for DTC P1783 (Transmission over temperature condition indicated -Transmission fluid
temperature exceeded 127°C [270°F]). See Figure 4.
* The Special Service Support Center will provide approvals and part number information based on the results of your inspection. Transmission oil
cooler assemblies must be drained of all oil in preparation for return.
