Town Car V8-4.6L VIN W (1997)
3. Remove three screws retaining rear door latch to rear door.
4. Remove rear door latch bellcrank.
5. Remove one screw retaining rear door latch remote control link (with link retaining clip). Remove rear door latch remote control link.
6. Remove rear door latch rod retaining clip from rear door latch.
7. Remove rivet from rear door electric latch actuator and disconnect harness.
8. Remove rear door latch, rear door electric latch actuator and rear door latch control rod as an assembly from rear door.
9. Transfer bushings and retaining clips along with rear door electric latch actuator and rear door latch control rod to new rear door latch.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten rear door latch retaining bolts to 4-8 Nm (35-70 Lb-In). Tighten rear door latch remote control and link retaining screw to 1-2 Nm (9-17
Lb-In).
