Disc Brake Caliper/Hose
4. Disconnect front brake hose from disc brake caliper. Remove hollow retaining bolt that connects hose to disc brake caliper. Remove hose from
caliper and plug hose.
5. Remove two caliper anchor bracket mounting bolts and discard.
6. Lift disc brake caliper off front disc brake rotor using rotating motion.
INSTALLATION
1. Use a 10 cm (4 inches) C-clamp and wood block 70 mm x 25 mm (2 3/4 inch x 1 inch) approximately 19 mm (3/4 inch) thick to seat the caliper
piston in its bore. This must be done to provide clearance for the disc brake caliper to fit over the front disc brake rotor during installation.
2. Install replacement disc brake caliper/front disc brake caliper anchor plate assembly, or correct disc brake caliper/front disc brake caliper anchor
plate assembly as marked during removal, with the brake shoes and linings installed. Position disc brake caliper/front disc brake caliper anchor
plate assembly over front disc brake rotor.
3. Install two new caliper anchor bracket mounting bolts.
NOTE: It is important to use correct bolt (M 14 x 2 x 31 mm).
4. Remove plug and install front brake hose on disc brake caliper with new sealing washers on each side of the fitting. Install retaining bolt through
fitting and washers. Tighten to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.). Inspect disc brake caliper locating pin and locating pin boots.
5. Bleed brake system.
6. Install wheel and tire assembly, using Rotunda Accutorq Lug Nut Sockets 164-R0303 or equivalent on torque wrench to tighten lug nuts to
115-142 Nm (85-104 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Failure to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness,
shudder and vibration.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Pump brake pedal several times to position brake shoes and linings. Refill brake master cylinder with High Performance DOT-3 Motor Vehicle
Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or DOT-3 equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A as necessary.
9. Road test vehicle.
