Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Front

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle. 
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly from the wheel hub. Use care to avoid damage to, or interference with the cylinder bleeder screw fitting

during removal.

3. Disconnect the flexible front brake hose from the disc brake caliper as follows:

a. Loosen the tube fitting that connects the front brake hose to the brake tube at the bracket on the frame.
b. Plug the brake tube.
c. Disconnect front hose bracket from frame by removing screw.
d. Remove the hollow bolt that retains the front brake hose assembly to the disc brake caliper.
e. Mark the LH and RH disc brake caliper and front brake hose assemblies with chalk prior to removal from the vehicle so they can be positioned

correctly during installation. 

INSTALLATION

1. Install the flexible front brake hose to the disc brake caliper with hollow bolt and two new sealing washers. Tighten front brake hose fitting to 

40-60 Nm (30-45 ft. lbs.).

2. Install the screw retaining the bracket to frame. Remove the plug from the brake tube. Connect the brake tube to the front brake hose with the tube

fitting nut. Tighten to 14-20 Nm (10-14 ft. lbs.).

NOTE:  Do not twist the front brake hose. 

3. Bleed the component that has been serviced and centralize the brake pressure differential valve.
4. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the MAX level with High Performance DOT-3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or

equivalent fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A and DOT 3.

5. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Tighten lug nuts to 115-142 Nm (85-104 ft. lbs.). 
6. Lower vehicle.
