Parking Brake Release Switch: Description and Operation
The automatic parking brake release switch:
^
is a vacuum switch.
^
is located on the top of the steering column.
^
supplies engine vacuum to the parking brake release vacuum motor in all forward gears.
^
vents the parking brake release vacuum motor in PARK, REVERSE and NEUTRAL.
^
operates off the shift tube cam which is designed to open and close the parking brake release switch between NEUTRAL and DRIVE.
