Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the customer's original concern by operating the brake pedal to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following electrical concerns apply:
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Electrical
^
Damaged multi-function switch.
^
Damaged stoplight switch.
^
Circuitry open/shorted.
^
Open fuse.
^
Fuse junction panel Fuse 16 (15 A), Fuse 1 (15 A), Circuit breaker 12 (18 A).
^
Damaged connectors.
3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. See: Symptom Related Diagnostic
