Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

NOTE:  When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Disconnect throttle position sensor from engine control sensor wiring.
3. Remove two throttle position sensor retaining screws.
4. Remove throttle position sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. lighten retaining screws to 2.8-3.8 Nm (25-33 lb in).
