Differential Axle Housing: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Turn air suspension service switch OFF. Raise vehicle on a hoist and position safety stands under the rear frame crossmember.
2. Drain lubricant from the rear axle housing by removing axle housing cover.
3. Remove wheels, rear disc brake rotors and rear disc brake calipers.
CAUTION: The rear brake anti-lock sensor must be removed before the axle shafts are removed. The rear brake anti-lock sensor is bolted to the
rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.
Rear Axle Removal
4. Remove differential pinion shaft lock pin from the differential pinion shaft and remove the differential pinion shaft.
