Heated Glass Element Switch: Description and Operation

A heated back window switch and light is mounted on the instrument panel.

The heated back window switch and light has a push button spring-loaded to neutral position to turn the system on or off. A timer-controlled relay
turns off after approximately 10 minutes of operation. If more time is needed, the heated back window switch and light can be reactivated for
another 10 minutes by pushing the button. Repeat as required.

Pushing in the heated back window switch and light electrically closes the normally open contacts in the heated back window switch and light. The
contacts provide battery positive voltage (B+) to the back window glass grids, indicator, heated outside rear view mirrors and trigger the timing
circuit. The contact will remain closed until the timer turns it off, the heated back window switch and light is pushed or the ignition switch is
turned OFF.

Power for the control timer comes from the accessory terminal of the ignition switch and is available when the ignition switch is in the RUN
position. The circuit is protected by Fuse D (40 A) in the power distribution box and Fuse 13 (10 A) in fuse junction panel.
