Axle Shaft Assembly: Testing and Inspection
Halfshafts, Front Wheel
NOTE: Do not install new constant velocity (CV) joints unless inspection reveals wear/damage.
NOTE: Inspect for indentations (dimples) in the boot convolutions.

Inspect the boots for cracks, tears and splits.

Inspect the vehicle underbody for grease splatter near the outboard and inboard boots. This is an indication of boot/clamp damage.
