RATTLE NOISE FROM BOTTOM OF DRIVER SEAT
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2010 Mazda3 vehicles with VINS lower than JM1BL******382460 (produced before September 1, 2010)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit rattle noise from driver seat slide adjuster which is located underneath the seat. This is caused by the welding of the slide
adjuster being broken and/or the push nut is loose due to repeated usage. To improve the durability, the material of the slide adjuster has been changed.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Remove the driver seat from the vehicle. Refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual section 02-13 FRONT SEAT
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
NOTE:
Adjust the seat height to top and seat slide to rear end.
3. Look at the bottom side of the seat and check if there is any damage to the welding on the sub slide unit link (A) and/or the push nut (B) is loose or
missing.
a. Check 2 sub slide unit links and 2 push nuts on the front side.
If push nut (B) is loose or missing, go to step 4.
If sub slide unit link (A) is damaged, go to step 5.
b. To remove the side covers (A and B), remove the screw and fastener (both sides).
