Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2.
Drain engine oil.
3.
Remove engine under covers.
4.
Disconnect exhaust pipe at manifold.
5.
Remove oil pan attaching bolts and stiffener, then the oil pan and gasket.
6.
Remove baffle plate, if equipped.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable sealant to front and rear oil pan to cylinder block contact surfaces.
b. Torque baffle plate attaching bolts to 14-19 ft.lbs. and the oil pan attaching bolts to 52-78 inch lbs.
8.
After completing installation, fill crankcase, then start engine and check for leaks.
