Drop a small amount of water on the edge of the timing belt.
CAUTION:
THE USE OF WATER IS TO VERIFY THE PROBLEM AREA. DO NOT USE OIL, GREASE OR ANY OTHER LUBRICANT INSTEAD
OF WATER.

Start the engine and check for noise while idling after the engine has warmed up.
If the noise disappears or changes in tone, replace the timing belt guide plate and timing belt with the modified one in accordance with the
Workshop Manual.
If the noise remains and does not change in tone, check for another possible cause.
NOTE:
As stated, the modified timing belt guide plate has been separated into two pieces (A & B). Refer to the illustralion for proper installation.
