Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair
FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE AND SERVICING FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel in the fuel lines remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running.
a. Before disconnecting fuel line, release fuel pressure from fuel line to eliminate the possibility of injury or fire.
1. Start the engine.
2. Disconnect the fuel pump connector with the engine running.
3. After stalling the engine, turn the ignition switch OFF.
b. Use a rag to protect from fuel spraying out when disconnecting the hose and plug the hoses after removal.
