Idle Switch: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Idle switch adjustment is not necessary unless it has been tampered with or replaced.

1.

Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature and stop the engine.

2.

Connect a tachometer.

3.

Disconnect the connector for the slow fuel cut control solenoid valve Fig. 29.

4.

Apply battery power to the A terminal of the connector (Carburetor side).

5.

Ground the B terminal of the connector (Carburetor side).

Connect an ohmmeter between the C terminal for the idle switch and ground Fig. 30
