Choke Pull-off: Adjustments

1.
If equipped, disconnect the bullet connectors from the water thermo switch and connect a jumper wire to both connectors.
2.
Turn the ignition switch on.
3.
Pull the choke knob and fully close the choke valve, if equipped.
4.
Disconnect the vacuum sensing tube from the vacuum break diaphragm and an external vacuum source to the vacuum break diaphragm.
5.
Gradually apply vacuum to the vacuum break diaphragm and note reading of the gauge when the diaphragm just starts to operate.
6.
Apply specified vacuum to the vacuum break diaphragm. Then, check the clearance ``R'' between the carburetor air horn and choke valve with
wire gauge, Fig. 11. If the clearance is not within the specifications, correct the clearance by bending the connecting rod which connects the
diaphragm and choke valve.
