Clutch Pedal Assembly: Adjustments
1986-88 323 EXC. 1988 4WD
1.
Measure distance from upper center of pedal pad to firewall and ensure distance (height) is 8.44-8.64 inches.
2.
If not, adjust pedal height by loosening locknut and turning clutch switch until specified height is obtained.
3.
Depress pedal by hand and measure pedal freeplay. Ensure freeplay is .35-.59 inch. If not, adjust clearance by depressing release lever and pulling
pin away from lever. Turn adjusting nut until a clearance of .06-.10 inch is obtained.
4.
After adjustment, ensure that when the clutch is disengaged, the distance between floor and upper center of pedal pad is approximately 3.3 inches
or more.
