The trunk lid on some 1990-'91 323/Protege models may not remain fully open due to the weight of the & lid and the strength of the trunk springs. If a
customer expresses concem over this, install new (stronger) balance springs as described in this bulletin.

WARNING:
We recommend wearing safety goggles and using "Vise-Grips" when removing balance springs. Balance springs are under tension. If spring tension is
suddenly released, damage to vehicle or personal injury may result.
