Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

VACUUM CHECK

Pressure Regulator Vacuum Check

1.

Start engine and run at idle.

2.

Disconnect vacuum hose (orange) from pressure regulator and verify that vacuum is present.

3.

Ground solenoid terminal wire G/O with a jumper wire and verify that no vacuum is present.

4.

If vacuum is present with terminal wire G/0 grounded, check valve.

SOLENOID VALVE CHECK

Pressure Regulator Solenoid Check

1.

Disconnect vacuum hose from valve and vacuum pipe.

2.

Blow through valve from port "A" and verify air flow from port "B."

3.

Disconnect electrical connector.  Connect 12V and a ground to solenoid terminals.

4.

Blow through valve from port "A" and verify air flow from valve filter.

5.

If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
