Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
Manual Transmission

Throttle Sensor Adjustment (M/T)

1.

Disconnect throttle sensor connector.

2.

Connect ohmmeter across terminals "IDL" and "E."

3.

Insert a 0.016 in (0.4 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stop screw and stop lever.

4.

Loosen sensor mounting screws.

5.

Rotate sensor clockwise approximately 30° and then back counter clockwise until continuity exists.

6.

Replace feeler gauge with a 0.027 in (0.7 mm) gauge.

7.

Verify that continuity does not exist.

8.

Tighten screws without allowing sensor to move.

9.

Open and close throttle several times.  Recheck adjustment and repeat the previous steps if necessary.

10. If correct adjustment cannot be obtained, replace sensor.
