Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL]

CAUTION:

-

Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the
connector when disconnecting it.

Do not damage the terminals.

1. Engage the parking brake and use wheel chocks at the front and rear of the wheels.

2. Select the selector lever to N position.

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

4. Remove the air cleaner component.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

5. Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2.  See: Body and Frame/Splash Guard/Service and Repair/Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2

Removal/Installation

6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

8. Inspect the TR switch.  See: Testing and Inspection/Transaxle Range (TR) Switch Inspection - FS5A-EL

Manual Shaft Nut Removal Note

1. Set the adjustable wrench as shown to hold the manual shaft lever and loosen the manual shaft nut.
