BURGLAR ALARM MALFUNCTION

2009 Mazda6 vehicles produced before December 15, 2008
DESCRIPTION
The burglar alarm on some vehicles may activate, even though there is no sign of a break-in. The alarm will stop activating by itself after a short period
of time.
This concern may be caused by a poor door switch contact due to oxidation. To increase the door switch cur- rent, the BCM has been modified.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
NOTE:
Use the IDS (laptop PC) because the PDS (Pocket PC) does not support READING FREEZE FRAME DATA.
3. After the vehicle has been identified, select the following items from the M-MDS initialization screen.
