Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]

NOTE:

-

For replace the PCM, Setup the M-MDS and perform the PCM configuration.  See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the battery and battery tray. (See  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement)

3. Remove all connectors and clips which may interfere with servicing.

4. Loosen the PCM bracket nuts.

5. Remove the PCM from the bracket.

6. When replacing the PCM on the vehicles, perform the following. 

-

PCM parameter reset.  See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and
Relearning/Immobilizer System-Related Parts Programming [Keyless Entry System]  See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and
Alarm Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Immobilizer System-Related Parts Programming [Advanced Keyless
Entry And Push Button Start System]

7. Remove the PCM bracket.

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
