Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection
MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR INSPECTION [MZI-3.7]
Visual Inspection
1. Verify the following items of the MAF sensor.

Dirt, damage, cracks

Rusted sensor terminal

Bent sensor terminal

If there is any malfunction, replace the MAF/IAT sensor. See: Service and Repair
Sensor Output Value Inspection
1. Remove the MAF/IAT sensor with the connector still connected.
2. Switch the ignition to ON.
3. Inspect the following items using the PID/DATA monitor function. See: Testing and Inspection/Mode 6 Data/Diagnostic Monitoring Test Results

Verify that the sensor output value changes when wind is introduced gradually to the sensor part of the MAF sensor.

If it cannot be verified, replace the MAF/IAT sensor. See: Service and Repair
