2009-2010 Mazda6 3.7L
2007-2010 CX-9 vehicles with VINS lower than JM3TB****A*300004 (produced before Aug. 31, 2010)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience MIL on with DTC P2135 (TP sensor No. 1/ No. 2 voltage correlation) stored in PCM memory. Throttle body has been
revised to address this concern.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Record audio pre-sets.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Disconnect the throttle body and PCM electrical connectors. Refer to MS3 online or Wiring Diagram:
^ Mazda6 - section 0140-2f CONTROL SYSTEM (MZI-3.7)
^ CX-9 - section 0140-g CONTROL SYSTEM
5. Use ohmmeter and check for short or open circuit between:
^ Mazda6 - throttle body connector 0140-222 and PCM connector 0140-201B.
^ CX-9-throttle connector 0140-22 and PCM connector 0140-01B.
6. Is there a problem with the wiring harness?
^ Yes - repair wiring harness and then proceed to step 7.
^ No - Proceed to step 7.
7. Replace the throttle body and gasket per MS3 online or Workshop Manual:
^ Mazda6 - section 01-13B INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]
^ CX-9 - section 01-13 INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]
8. Reconnect the throttle body and PCM electrical connectors.
9. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
10. Set clock and audio pre-sets.
11. If equipped with Auto-Open/Close Windows, proceed to POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE".
12. If equipped with Power Liftgate (CX-9 Only), proceed to POWER LIFTGATE INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE".
13. Verify repair.
