Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR INSPECTION [MZI-3.7]

Sensor Output Value Inspection

1. Verify that no DTC related to APP sensor has been detected. 

-

If any DTCs related to APP sensor have been detected, perform the DTC inspection.  See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions/DTC Table [Engine]

2. Switch the ignition to ON.

3. Inspect the following items using the PID/DATA monitor function.  See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and

Inspection/Mode 6 Data/Diagnostic Monitoring Test Results

Verify that the sensor output value is as indicated in the table below according to the condition of the accelerator pedal.

-

If it cannot be verified, replace the throttle body.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair
