Special Service Program - SSP01 1979-1982 626, 1979-1984 B2000 Cylinder Head Gasket

Dear Customer

Consistent with Mazda's goal of customer satisfaction, Mazda Motor Corporation (hereafter referred to as "Mazda") has instituted a Special Service
Program -- SSP01 (hereafter referred to as "Program") for the cylinder head gasket on 1979-1982 Mazda 626 and 1979-1983 Mazda B2000 and certain
1984 Mazda B2000 (the VIN range of certain 1984 B2000; JM2UC121 E0800001 through JM2UC121 E0818754 or JM2UC221 E0800001 through
JM2UC221 E0808944). Our records indicate that you own or have owned a vehicle covered by the Program. The following are the features of this
Program.

1.

Reason for Program

The cylinder head gasket in your vehicle may fail prematurely. Should this occur, it could result in low compression and/or coolant /oil leakage.

2.

Program Features

The Program consists of the following two plans and goes into effect on February 14, 1986.

2-1. Warranty Extension Plan

The warranty period for the cylinder head gasket of your vehicle is extended to 5 years or 60,000 miles of operation from the earlier date of either
first use or retail delivery of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. Engine damage resulting from premature failure of the cylinder head gasket will be
repaired by any authorized Mazda Dealer at Mazda's expense within this time/mileage limitation. Therefore, should your vehicle experience
premature failure of the cylinder head gasket please make arrangements with any authorized Mazda Dealer to have it repaired. We suggest that for
future reference you retain this letter in the glove compartment of your vehicle.

2-2. Reimbursement Plan

If repairs for premature failure of the cylinder head gasket have been already performed at your expense at an authorized Mazda Dealer or a
licensed repair shop within 5 years or 60,000 miles of operation from the earlier date of either first use or retail delivery of the vehicle, whichever
occurs first Mazda will reimburse you for the reasonable amount out of the repair costs for which you paid based on Mazda's repair standard. The
detailed requirements for the reimbursement are shown on the separate sheet. To receive the reimbursement you must fill out the enclosed
application form and mail it with a legible copy of the paid repair order or invoice to the designated address, postmarked no later than May 31,
1986.

NOTE:
(1)

Any engine damage resulting from other than premature failure of the cylinder head gasket is not covered by the Program.

(2)

Symptoms of damages resulting from premature failure of cylinder head gasket are as follows.

Coolant and/or off leakage inside and/or outside of the engine.

*

Engine overheating and/or lack of power resulting from the coolant/oil leakage and/or low compression.

Reimbursement Plan

I.

Requirements for Reimbursement

If the following requirements are met you are eligible to receive reimbursement under this reimbursement plan.

1.

You own or have owned a subject vehicle (1979-1982 Mazda 626, 1979-1983 Mazda B2000 and certain 1984 Mazda B2000).

2.

You have paid for repairs resulting from the premature failure of the cylinder head gasket of the subject vehicle.

3.

The repair has been paid for on or before February 28, 1986.
