Cruise Control Adjustment
ACTUATOR CABLE DEFLECTION:5-10 MM (0.2 - 0.4 IN..)
Description
A misadjusted cruise control actuator cable may cause a delay in response when a cruise
speed is selected. If the vehicle decelerates slightly before the cruise control can maintain a steady speed, check the amount of
deflection in the actuator cable. If the deflection is not within the specifications, adjust the cable as follows:
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
1)
Remove the air cleaner assembly and the cable lock clip. Be sure the choke is fully open.
2)
Tighten the actuator cable adjusting nut until all play is removed from the cruise control linkage. Be sure the throttle is not being opened.
3)
Back off the actuator calbe adjusting nut three full revolutions. There should be a slight amount of play between the cruise control linkage
and the throttle linkage. Install the cable lock clip.
