7. Loosen the tensioner lock bolt so that tension is applied by the spring.
8. Turn the crankshaft twice in the direction of forward rotation (to the right). This will apply equal tension to each side of the timing belt.
9. Tighten the tensioner lock bolt.

Tensioner lock bolt tightening torque: 37-52 Nm (27.5 38.3 ft.lb).
10. Check to be sure that each timing mark is correctly aligned.
11. If necessary, measure the belt tension midway between the crank pulley and the camshaft pulley, and if the tension is not correct, repeat the
adjustment from step 7. Also the belt tension can be checked by holding it between your thumb and forefinger to check the clearance, as shown in
the image.
Caution:

Do not turn the crankshaft in the reverse direction.

Perform the above operation with the spark plugs removed.

The timing belt tension adjustment is an automatic spring adjustment; be sure not to apply tension other than that of the spring if the belt
tension is incorrect, abnormal noise and/or reduced timing belt durability may result.
