Precheck
Be sure the ignition timing, spark plugs, carburetor float level, etc., are all in normal operating condition.
Adjusting Idle mixture
Adjustment of the engine idle mixture is normally unnecessary.
In case an overhaul is necessary due to carburetor trouble, adjust the engine idle mixture and pay attention to the following points.
1.
Assemble the carburetor in the reverse order of disassembly.
NOTE: If overhauling the carburetor do not secure the spring pin to lock the mixture adjust screw. If not overhauling the carburetor, remove
carburetor and remove spring Fig. 9.
2.
Install the carburetor in the reverse order of removal.
3.
Plug the hoses of the idle compensator, thermosensor, and reed valves.
4.
Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature and idle it.
5.
Connect a tachometer to the engine.

6.
Connect a dwellmeter (90 degrees, 4 cylinder) to the check connector of the A/F solenoid valve and read the meter Fig. 7.
