Area A: Remove kick panel and inspect.

Follow the same Inspection and Repair Procedures as described for Right Front Side of Passenger Compartment Area. Also inspect antenna bezel
molding for correct sealing and mounting. Figure 11.
NOTE:
This procedure should only be done by experienced body shop personnel.

Run water on antenna and make sure antenna drain tube is intact on bottom of power antenna motor and allows water to drain properly (power
antenna only).
3.
If necessary, position hose so there are no loops, kinks or pinched areas. If hose cannot be corrected or is cut, remove damaged section of hose.
Install a replacement piece of hose (4.7 mm [3/16 in] outside diameter) which provides a tight fit to the existing hose.
Area B: Inspect for water entering under dash through firewall.

Using a mechanic's mirror, look for signs of water leaks under dash.
2.
Check cowl grommet for leaks by spraying water on it. Replace grommet if it leaks. Apply sealer to bottom side of grommet during installation.

NOTE:
Only one grommet is located in an area where it may cause a water leak.

If water is leaking from firewall, check for studs not being seated, loose grommets and cross-threaded bolts on engine side of firewall.
4.
If necessary, remove studs. Clean threads and reinstall. Remove cross-threaded or high bolts. Retap holes. If necessary, replace bolts. Apply sealer
to threads before installing bolts. Replace any loose grommets.
5.
Remove black plastic cowl vent. Direct a stream of water at each stud. If any leaks are found, apply sealer.
Area C: Inspect for water entering at corner where firewall meets inner fender.
