Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Toothed Ring

Front

1.

Set park brake, block rear wheels, then raise and support front of vehicle.

2.

Remove front wheel and tire, then remove cap from hub.

3.

Remove locknut from spindle, then remove the driveshaft, Fig. 90.

4.

Tap sensor rotor from driveshaft using a chisel.

5.

Install sensor rotor by pressing on, using the SST.

6.

Replace driveshaft, then install locknut. Torque to 174-235 ft. lbs.

7.

Replace cap onto hub, then install wheel and tire.

8.

Remove blocks from rear wheels, then release park brake.

1.

Block front tires, the loosen rear wheel lug nuts.

2.

Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove rear wheel and tire.

3.

Remove cap from hub, then the locknut, Fig. 92.
