Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

Caution:  Use a precision voltmeter with a scale of 0.01 volts to inspect or adjust the throttle sensor.

1.   Remove the air hose from the throttle body.
2.   Disconnect the throttle sensor connector (3-pin).

Test Harness Connected

3.   Connect the adapter harness (Mazda Part# 49 G018901) between the throttle sensor and the wiring harness.
4.   Turn the ignition switch on.
5.   Make sure that the throttle valve is fully closed.

Measuring Voltage

6.   Measure the RED wire voltage and record it.

Testing Voltage

7.   Check that the BLUE wire voltage.
8.   Loosen the throttle sensor mounting screws.
9.   Turn the throttle sensor to adjust BLUE wire voltage within the range specified for the recorded RED wire voltage.
