Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

RELAY CIRCUIT

Circuit Opening Relay

1.  

Remove the circuit opening relay.

2.  

Check the circuit opening relay as outlined below.

Fc        Continuity (Cranking)

B        Voltage (Ign. on)

CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY

1.  

Apply 12 volts and a ground to the terminals below and check the circuit opening relay as described.

    12 VOLTS

RESISTANCE

Relay Terminal Identification

1.  

Check the resistance between the terminals with an ohmmeter.

   BETWEEN TERMINALS         RESISTANCE

      STA -- E1            

15-30 Ohms

       B -- Fc            

80-150 Ohms

       B -- Fp
