STABILIZER BAR BUSHING REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

APPLICABLE MODELS
All 1993-97626/ MX-6

DESCRIPTION
When replacing the front stabilizer bar bushings it is not necessary to remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to the instructions below to replace the bushing.

BUSHING REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

1.

Loosen and remove four (4) 14 mm stabilizer bushing bracket bolts. Refer to section R of the workshop manual.

2.

Slide the passenger side bushing and bracket toward the center of the vehicle.

NOTE: 

Removing the passenger side bushing first facilitates driver's side removal.

3.

Slide the driver's side bushing and bracket toward the driver's side of the vehicle.

NOTE: 

Sliding the bushing toward the driver's side avoids interference with fuel lines.

4.

Replace or service bushings/brackets as necessary.

Apply silicone grease onto bushings prior to installation.

5.

Install driver's side bushing and bracket.

Install two (2) 14 mm bolts finger tight

6.

Slide the passenger side bushing and bracket into place and align bushings with installation marks on stabilizer bar. Refer to section R of the
workshop manual.

7.

Install and fully tighten the stabilizer bushing bracket bolts on the passenger side.

8.

Tighten driver's side l4mm stabilizer bushing bracket bolts.

NOTE: 

Follow this tightening sequence to ensure the installation marks remain aligned with the bushings.
