Temperature Gauge: Component Tests and General Diagnostics
Water temperature gauge
1. Disconnect the water temperature sender unit connector.
2. Verify that the needle indicates C when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
3. Verify that the needle indicates H when the terminal of the water temperature sender unit's vehicle side connector is grounded.
4. Remove the instrument cluster.
5. Disassemble the instrument cluster to remove the fuel and water temperature gauges.
6. Using an ohmmeter, measure and verify that the resistance between terminals A and B, B and C, and A and C is as shown.
7. If not as specified, replace the fuel and water temperature gauges.
