Carrier Hub Assembly 

Check for the following and repair or replace as necessary.

1. Damaged or worn gear and operation.
2. Clearance between pinion washers and planetary carrier. Clearance should be 0.2 - 0.7 mm (0.008 - 0.027 inch).
3. Replace the carrier hub assembly if necessary.

ASSEMBLY  

1. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, referring to the following steps.

2. Install the carrier hub assembly to the inner race.

3. Install the snap ring.

4. Apply petroleum jelly to the bearing races and the thrust bearing.
5. Install the tabs of the bearing races into the alignment holes on each side of the one-way clutch/carrier hub assembly.
6. Install the thrust bearing to the sun gear drum side of the one-way clutch and carrier hub assembly. Bearing race outer diameter for the sun gear

drum side is 72.0 mm (2.83 inch) and the 3-4 clutch side is 57.0 mm (2.24 inch).
