Repair Procedure

1.

Verify customer concern.

2.

Confirm DTC P1132 and/or P1131. Retrieve and record Freeze Frame Data on repair order.

3.

Disconnect the front O2 sensor.

4.

Turn the key to the ON position but DO NOT start the engine.

5.

Go to the PID monitor and Record Menu on the NGS tester and select O2S11.

If the voltage displayed is 0 volts, proceed to STEP 6.

If the voltage displayed is any value greater than 0 volts, reconnect the O2 sensor and replace the PCM, then proceed to STEP 10.

Caution
^

If the vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer system, be sure to reprogram the PCM. Failure to do so will cause permanent PCM damage.

6.

Reconnect the front oxygen sensor.

7.

Connect the positive test lead from a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) to the red wire at connector B1-07, and the negative test lead to ground.

8.

Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.

9.

Compare the actual voltage displayed by the DVOM to that of the O2S11 PID.

If the values displayed by the DVOM and O2S11 fluctuate evenly within 0.0 - 1.0 Volts and are within 10% of each other, the PCM and O2S
are operating normally or there is an intermittent concern. Refer to the Workshop Manual for further diagnostics.

If the DVOM and PID values are the same but indicate that the O2 sensor is not fluctuating or is not in the correct 0.0 - 1.0 volt range, replace
the sensor. Proceed to STEP 10.

If the DVOM and PID values do not match, replace the PCM and proceed to STEP 10.

Caution
^

If the vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer system, be sure to reprogram the PCM. Failure to do so will cause permanent PCM damage.

The NGS tester can be used in place of the DVOM in the above procedure by using the volt meter function of the NGS tester and then link to
the O2S11 PID.

If vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer system, PCM must be reprogrammed.

10.

Clear any codes stored if necessary.
