Seat Belt Retractor: Testing and Inspection
Seat Belt Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR)

1. Pulling the belt out all the way will change the lock mode from ELR to ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor).
2. Verify that the retractor makes a clicking sound as the belt slowly retracts.

If no sound is heard, the lock mode has not changed to ALR. If necessary, repeat step 1.

3. Verify that the belt locks when pulled.
4. Verify that the lock mode changes to ELR when the belt fully retracts.

If any of the above-mentioned steps are not as specified, replace the seat belt.
