ABS Hydraulic Unit: Service and Repair

CAUTION:  Brake fluid will damage painted surfaces. If brake fluid does get on a painted surface, wipe it off immediately.

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove the nuts mounting the fuel filter and igniter to the bracket, and move them toward the engine.
2. Remove the ABS hydraulic unit in the order shown in the figure.

Loosen/tighten the brake pipe by using the Special Service Tool (SST).

Torque: 12.0-21.5 Nm (113-190 inch lbs.)

3. The ABS hydraulic unit is not serviceable. If there is a malfunction, replace the ABS hydraulic unit assembly. Install in the reverse order of

removal.
