Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Line Pressure
WARNING: Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin
and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Pressure Release Procedure".

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Fuel Pressure Gauge Installation
2. Connect a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and the main fuel hose. (Install clamps as shown.)
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Start the engine and let it idle.
5. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Fuel line pressure: 210-250 kPa (30-36 psi)
Fuel Pressure Regulator Inspection
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator and plug it.
7. Measure the fuel line pressure again.
Fuel line pressure: 270-310 kPa (39-45 psi)
8. If not as specified, replace the pressure regulator.
