Pressure Feedback Exhaust Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Sensor Inspection

Inspection

1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature and let it idle.
2. Verity that the intake air system is normal.

EGR Boost Sensor Connector

3. Measure the voltage between terminals A and B by using a voltmeter, from the rear side of the connector.

Specification: Approx. 4.5 V

4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR boost sensor.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold side of the EGR boost sensor solenoid valve and connect the vacuum hose to the EGR boost

sensor.

6. Measure the voltage between terminals A and B by using a voltmeter, from the rear side of the connector.

Specification: Approx. 1.9 V

7. Apply vacuum or pressure to the EGR boost sensor by using a vacuum pump. Measure the voltage between terminals A and B by using a

voltmeter, from the rear side of the connector.

Specification:

20.0 kPa (5.91 in.Hg): 0.783-0.849 V
46.7 kPa (13.8 in.Hg): 1.772-1.912 V
101.3 kPa (30.0 in.Hg): 3.92-4.08 V

8. Turn off the ignition switch.
9. If not as specified, replace the EGR boost sensor.
