DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience driveability concerns (lack of power, hesitation, rough idle, etc.) without MIL illumination or stored DTCs. This concern
may be due to any one of the following causes:

1.

Cylinder # 1 and # 2 fuel injector connectors swapped (14 only).

2.

A restriction within the exhaust system.

3.

A defective EGR boost sensor.

Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and repaired if necessary.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

1-4 Only (V6 engines, go to step 2) Inspect the # 1 and # 2 fuel injector connectors for proper installation. Refer to the wiring diagram for correct
locations.

If properly installed proceed to step 2.

If not, move the connectors to the proper positions. Proceed to step 5. 2. Remove and inspect the flexible exhaust pipe for restriction.

If restricted, repair the exhaust system and proceed to step 5.

If not, proceed to step 3.

3.

Warm engine to operating temperature and allow to idle.

4.

Apply vacuum to the EGR boost sensor with a vacuum pump and check the voltage between the signal wires. Refer to the tables.

If the voltage readings are within the specified range, refer to the Workshop Manual for further diagnostic and repair information. If the
voltage is not within the specified range, replace boost sensor and proceed to step 5.

NOTE: 

When checking the voltage reading a "0"HG, disconnect the vacuum hose to the boost sensor.

5.

Verify the repair.
