Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair

Camshaft oil seal

Disassembly Note
Refer to timing belt.  See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair
Camshaft pulley

Loosen camshaft pulley lock bolt with the SST.

Remove the camshaft oil seal.

Installation
1. Apply engine oil to the camshaft oil seal lip.
2. Press the oil seals into each cylinder head with a suitable pipe.

Oil seal outer diameter:  54.O mm (2.1 in)

3. Refer to timing belt.  See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair

4. Tighten the camshaft pulley with SST.

Tightening torque: 71 - 80 N.m (7.2-8.2 m-kg, 52-59 ft-lb)
