Idle Speed: Adjustments

PREPARATION

Diagnostic Connector

1.

Warm engine to operating temperature.

2.

Turn all accessories OFF.

3.

Connect SST to data link connector.

4.

Connect timing light.

5.

Connect tachometer to data link connector terminal IG-.

6.

Set switch A to position 1. Set TEST SW to SELF-TEST.

NOTE: If SST is not used, jump across TEN and GND terminals of data link connector. 

ADJUSTMENT

Adjusting Idle Speed

1.

After preparation, check idle speed.

680 - 720 rpm in P range

2.

If not within specification, adjust by turning air adjusting screw.

3.

Disconnect SST or remove jumper wire.
