Testing and Inspection for Fuel Injectors in the 1993 929 V6-30L DOHC
Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
Injector R&R
WARNING: Relieve fuel system pressure. Keep sparks, cigarettes, and open flames away when replacing fuel system components.
1.
Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2.
Remove components in order shown. Grasp and pull plastic part of injector; do not pull on wire harness.
3.
Install in reverse order of removal.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Removing/Installing Fuel Injector
1.
Install new O-rings on injectors and install as follows:
^ Apply small amount of clean engine oil to O-rings.
^ Verify no obstructions in injector bores of fuel distributor.
^ Install injectors into fuel distributor bores by turning injectors. Be careful to prevent O-ring damage.
2.
After injectors are installed, remove fuel distributor with injectors.
3.
Connect data link connector terminals F/P and GND with jumper wire.
4.
Turn ignition ON and verify no leaks from system.
