Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

Checking Throttle Sensor Adjustment

1.

Disconnect throttle sensor connector.

2.

Connect an ohmmeter across terminals "IDL" and "GND" as shown.

3.

Insert 0.004 in (0.1 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stopper screw and throttle valve lever. Meter should show continuity.

4.

Insert 0.008 in (0.2 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stopper screw and throttle valve lever. Meter should show no continuity.

If not OK, continue.

5.

Loosen sensor mounting screws.

6.

Insert 0.004 in (0.1 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stopper screw and throttle valve lever. Turn sensor just until ohmmeter indicates continuity
and tighten mounting screws to 17 - 21 in lb (2.0 - 2.4 Nm).

7.

Re-check with 0.08 in (0.2 mm) feeler gauge and check that there is no continuity.

6.

Reconnect electrical connector.
